Our Mission & Goals:

La Scuola’s mission is to nurture each child’s innate ability to learn through a unique combination of curricula and approach: the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP) curriculum framework and Reggio Emilia inspired pedagogy, both of which are inquiry-based Constructivist learning approaches. Our goal is to give children the gift of a life long passion for learning, and international and global mindset, the gift of bilingualism and to prepare them for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

These goals apply equally to children and adults at our school:

    In our 13th year as a preschool and our 4th year as an elementary school, we are excited to grow one grade per year until 8th grade, and to expand to a two classes per grade school. We hope to find more faculty and staff that will share our enthusiasm about our programs and our vibrant international community with a focus on critical thinking, creative expression and intellectual development.

    Our Curriculum:

    La Scuola teaches reading, writing, language, math, history, art and science in both Italian and English. Class sizes remain small (18-22) to to meet the needs of children with varied levels of Italian language proficiency.
