IB PYP-MYP Coordinator
Summary of Position:
La Scuola International School seeks a Full-Time Primary Years Program (PYP) / Middle Years (MYP) Coordinator for the 2017-2018 school year, effective immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and growing school, where your ideas will be heard and you can shape the future.
The PYP Coordinator must demonstrate commitment to La Scuola’s mission and vision, as well as be experienced with the PYP at the elementary school level and the MYP at the middle school level. La Scuola will be starting MYP accreditation process this school year and the PYP/MYP Coordinator will be responsible for leading this effort. He or she must also be responsible, self-motivated, open-minded, flexible, willing to work with a team of colleagues, and be willing to work in an environment with different cultures/languages. The PYP/MYP coordinator must have a deep understanding of the IB framework, inquiry-based teaching and learning as it relates to the PYP/MYP expectations, and be a reflective, knowledgeable, innovative and thoughtful educator who leads by example.
The PYP/MYP coordinator will work in close collaboration with the pedagogical leadership team and the faculty to ensure that the curriculum/program are within the framework of the PYP/MYP. The PYP/MYP coordinator will be the liaison between IBO and La Scuola, and thus responsible for understanding all IBO requirements and being up to date on PYP & MYP Frameworks.
Minimum 5 years experience teaching elementary/middle school
Experience as a curriculum coordinator and previous MYP/Middle School experience strongly preferred
Enthusiasm for language immersion and inquiry learning
Knowledge of the IB PYP/MYP Accreditation processes
Ability and passion to work in a start-up environment
