Preschool Assistant Teacher
We are looking for a caring and committed Preschool Assistant Teacher for our wonderful Italian Immersion/Reggio Emilia inspired program in San Francisco. The position will start in August 2018.
We are an IB accredited school, currently building a K-8 Italian immersion program. We are particularly interested in teachers with experience in the Reggio Emilia approach and IB PYP (IB Primary Years Program). Applicants should be strong team players and be very proactive and flexible. Final candidates need to be prepared for a teaching demonstration (or a video if they are overseas).
A minimum of a BA, or Child Development Certificate, or 5+ years experience working with children required
Experience working in a Reggio Emilia inspired school required
Excellent communication skills and ability to present in public to both parents and other educators
Ability to plan curriculum, lead other teachers
4 core classes* of early childhood education:
Introduction to the Field of Child Development (3 units) CDEV 65
Child Growth and Development (3 units) CDEV 53
Child, Family and Community (3 units) CDEV 67
Curriculum for Young Children (3 units) CDEV 66
*Assistant teachers are required to be enrolled in at least one ECE classes and complete a minimum of 3 units per semester.
Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English/Italian
Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills
Problem solving, creativity, multitasking skills
Ability to thrive in a start-up environment
Excellent attendance and punctuality records
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Final candidate will need to pass Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance, Physical Exam, TB Test and other immunization requirements.
Pay will be depend on qualifications and experience.
