Summer Camp Counselors

La Scuola International School will be running unique summer camps for children ages 3-5 (PreK) and 6-12 (K-6). Children will be immersed in Italian language and apply innovative, real-world, and project-based learning skills within contexts that affect our communities. La Scuola is currently searching for talented Summer Camp Counselors to support and help deliver the program in the summer of 2018.

Essential Duties

 Assist specialist teachers in implementing hands-on activities; assist children in meeting their physical needs and in using learning materials and equipment

 Prepare instructional, display, and other work materials

 Maintain normal classroom routines and use appropriate re-direction and positive guidance strategies

 Assist in preparing and distributing snacks and meals; supervise meal times 

 Collect, distribute, store, and dispose materials; arrange furniture and equipment

 Become acquainted with our diverse teams of experienced educators


 Bachelor's degree or Child Development Certificate; 2+ years experience working with children

 Knowledge of Reggio Emilia and IB strongly preferred

Required Skills

 B1 level English proficiency (referenced to the CEFR)

 Native Italian speaker preferred

 Developed skills in one or more of the following areas:  music (playing an instrument and/or singing), dance, art, yoga, tinkering, coding, cooking, engineering, architecture, design or any other hands-on craft activity

 Outstanding interpersonal skills

 Problem solving, creativity, and multitasking skills

 Punctuality is essential


June 25 to 29 for PreK summer camp; July 9 through August 3, 2018 for PreK and K6


Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM

Visa Sponsorship

If applying from abroad, La Scuola will facilitate the J1 Camp Counselor Visa through a third party provider at the successful candidate's expense. Candidates must be currently enrolled at a university and/or employed.


Compensation is dependent on experience.


For candidates living abroad, accommodation will be provided through a family homestay.


Final candidate will need to pass Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance, Physical Exam, and TB Test.
