Ways to Give
We appreciate your interest in making La Scuola a philanthropic priority. We are a 501c(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our tax ID number is 56-2293184.
All gifts, large and small, make a difference in sustaining the education and community at La Scuola. Browse below to read the many different ways to make a gift.
We welcome cash, gifts by check, money order or credit card. Checks should be made payable to La Scuola Internazionale di San Francisco and sent directly to our Administration Office. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Donors who wish to contribute but do not wish to make an immediate payment may make a pledge. A pledge is a promise to make a specified payment within the campaign period. All pledges must be paid in full by May 31. Pledges can be made by mail or e-mail. Pledge reminder letters will be mailed annually or at the times requested in your pledge.
If you would like to spread out your pledge payments, electronic fund transfers may be arranged for your installments to be made directly from your checking account. An email reminder will be sent before the transfer occurs. To make set up an electronic fund transfer, please contact the Administration Office at 415.558.9006.
La Scuola accepts gifts-in-kind if they can be used in support of the mission of our school. Such gifts might take the form of inventory given through businesses owned by donors.
Does your employer match gifts? Many companies have a matching gift program that can double the value of your gift. Please check with your company’s personnel office. The matching gift must be initiated by you once you have contributed to La Scuola. When we receive the paperwork from your company, we can verify receipt of your gift, complete the necessary documentation and return it to your company.
These are some of the generous companies that supported the charitable efforts of La Scuola’s parents and friends through their Corporate Matching Gift programs:
A residence, vacation home, farm, acreage or vacant lot may have so appreciated in value through the years that its sale would mean a sizable capital gains tax. By making a year-end gift of this property instead, a donor would avoid the capital gains tax, and, at the same time, receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the property.
A gift in your will can provide significant opportunities for future La Scuola students. If you are interested in including La Scuola in your estate plans, please contact the Administration Office at 415.558-9006.
Through our Community Partners and Retail Rebate Programs, you can support La Scuola while you shop! Each of these merchants will donate a portion of your purchases to the school at no additional cost to you. Please click through for more details and Happy Shopping!
A gift of stock or appreciated securities can offer greater tax savings than a cash gift. Making a gift of securities is both simple and tax efficient. Gifts of appreciated stock may allow a donor to avoid a capital gains tax in addition to receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock. To initiate a gift of stock, we ask that you follow the instructions on the Stock Transfer form. A wire transfer is the easiest way to make a gift of stock. Please contact the Administration Office at 415.558.9006 to notify us in advance of the transfer with the specific details (stock name, share quantity, and date of broker instructions). This will allow us to track the stock and send you a timely and correct receipt.
Memorial or honorary gifts can be made in honor of a loved one or in tribute to a special occasion. Gift acknowledgements will be sent to the family or whomever you choose. All gifts are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged in the Annual Report.
La Dolce Vita is an annual, volunteer-led fundraising gala. This is the signature event for La Scuola Internazionale di San Francisco, which educates preschool and elementary children and is growing each year towards 8th grade.
Funds raised at past events have enabled the school to accomplish many great projects like:
Transforming a parking lot into a magical outdoor play area that sparks the imagination
Creating a space where healthy meals, cooked from scratch, are shared with friends
Providing children with a dedicated art/creativity space (the Atelier)
Giving life to our beautiful vegetable and sensory garden
Last years, we had over 350 guests at the event. We want to again thank our families and sponsors for participating in last year’s Spring Gala.
All sponsors and donors will be acknowledged publicly through listings in the program, mentioned on our website, and at the event.
