As any other independent school, La Scuola relies on the generosity of our community to sustain our outstanding preschool and K-8 programs. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a La Scuola education. In Bay Area Independent schools, fundraising makes up anywhere from 6% – 15% of the school’s annual operating budget. At La Scuola, this gap runs at 11%
Tuition is set with the expectation that the school will have 100% participation in the Annual Fund. This practice benefits families by keeping tuition at affordable levels for all and allowing each family the opportunity to invest in the school with a tax-deductible contribution instead of paying higher tuition. The only gift that is too small is the one that was never given. The key is to participate at the level that is meaningful for your family.
Your generous contributions to the Annual Fund allows us to:
Keep the tuition as accessible as possible, providing financial aid to keep La Scuola diverse
Support our excellent environmental science, garden, atelier and music programs and our family style food program
Continue to offer rich professional development for our teachers and staff
Offer competitive remuneration for faculty and staff as our city continues to become less affordable
Intellectually and emotionally prepare students to become leaders, innovators and compassionate global citizens
