COVID-19 Video Update from our Head of School

Ciao La Scuola!

A warm hello to all of our students, parents, faculty, staff and friends in our La Scuola community. This is only our first day apart and, if you are like me, I’m sure you already miss the cheerful laughs and welcoming hellos that we are used to every day.

Today marks a shift in how our city and state are dealing with coronavirus as San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced all non-essential travel and services will be. This is reassuring to me as I look at Italy showing the very first signs of the curve flattening and a smaller increase of new cases each day.

I want to thank all the parents who have shared their well-wishes, their compassionate comments, and their thoughtful feedback during these past three weeks. Your patience and support have helped our community navigate these challenges together. We have set up a Google Form so that you can ensure our Leadership Team can quickly answer your questions.

PARENTS: Send us your questions with this Google Form: Questions from Families about COVID-19 & Online Learning

Your Division Head is planning to send a campus-wide communication the next day and they aim to send out grade-level communications to families on a daily basis.

When you talk to your children remind them that this too will pass, that they are safe with you and that a better future awaits them. While the future impact of the COVID-19 is unclear, what remains clear is our strength and togetherness as a La Scuola community. We must keep working together to overcome this virus as a nation and as humankind.

Remember, friends, we are going to get through together as a family and a community. Andra’tuttobene (all will be well, Italian social media tagline)

Un abbraccio (virtuale) a tutti,

Valentina Imbeni, Ph.D., Head of School
