June 24-July 2* The World of Performance Price: $625 Whether you like to be in the spot-light, or behind the scenes, you will get a taste of what it is like to produce your own performance. Performance art includes a wide variety of storytelling and expression. From theater, dance and song, to spoken word, circus tricks, movies, and puppets, campers will participate in a production to share a story. Write a script, practice storytelling skills, make props, build the stage design, create sound effects, and sew costumes. Collaborate with a team and bring your story into full production! The goal of the week is to create a mini performance for all to enjoy on the last day of camp. *This is a 7-day camp, M-F and M-Tu the following week.

July 8-12 Libroteca Price: $525 Do you want to publish your own book? Do you have a wild imagination? Libroteca is the field of bookmaking. Our lucky campers will learn how to build many types of books and create a variety of stories! Dive deep as we explore the creative writing process, learning the different steps and styles of writing fiction and non-fiction stories. From paper making, to book binding, you will make sewn books, accordion books, pop-up books, miniature books, lap-book, story mobiles, comic books, flip books, and more. In this bilingual Italian and English camp, students will use both languages as a tool for communication. Each camper will have their own personal library of their very own creations.

July 15-19 Around the World in San Fran K-2nd grade Price: $525 Traveling is medicine for the soul. It expands our perspective and allows us to see things in a new way. We are excited to experience places, people, and projects that connect us to this guiding theme. We are so fortunate to live in a city where we can experience cultures and landscapes from around the world. Learn to read a map and navigate the public transportation to neighborhoods like North Beach to try Guinness World Records Italian pizza from Tony’s Pizzeria and experience Japanese tea ceremony at the Japanese Tea Garden. Hike through the terrain, meet people with different cultural backgrounds, taste exotic foods, create art, play games and dance, and so much more!

July 15-19 Uke-licious Camp 3rd-8th grade Price: $525 A ukulele camp for the beginner to the seasoned pro. All students will be given a ukulele to borrow for the duration of the camp! By the end of the camp students will know how to read and play several chords, notes and tablature, as well as have the skills to figure out music on their own using a variety of resources (books, online guides, youtube tutorials, etc.). Students

will prepare music in small groups and as a large ensemble, and we will have an informal performance at the end of the week!

July 22-26 Gold Rush in San Fran Price: $525 What was life like during the Gold Rush in California? How did people live during that prosperous period in San Francisco? The Gold Rush transformed California. In 1848, the population grew from 1,000 to 25,000 in San Francisco. Take a walking tour in San Francisco, notice old brick buildings from that time, and learn about iconic figures such as Lotta Crabtree or systems like the Pony Express. Travel to the past and mine for gold. Study geology and identify qualities and characteristics in rock forms. Throughout the week, we will inquire, make art, and do fun educational activities around this guiding theme.

July 29-Aug. 2nd 9am-1pm Italian Induction K-2nd Price: $350 Is your child new to La Scuola or developing Italian language skills? This Italian Induction week will help your child acclimate before the school year officially begins. Come explore the classroom and the space around us. Let’s go through our basic daily routines such as washing hands, writing, and coloring. We will learn the meaning of numbers and how we relate to them in the classroom. Observe plants, flowers and illustrate them while analyzing shapes and colors. Move, dance, and sing to learn about our body parts. Learn to be a La Scuola community classmate in kindergarten and 1st grade. We are a unique school and want to make your child feel at home in this educational environment.

July 29-Aug. 2 Music Camp 3rd-8th grade Price: $525 Calling all beginning and advanced guitar, mandolin, bass and ukulele players! Maestro Carlo Dean, La Scuola’s Music Specialist, will immerse children in a music-making summer camp to hone their skills in sight reading, technique and musicianship, and apply their music artistry to form large and small ensembles. Children will prepare music for a recording project and end of the week performance!
