LDV Success Featured by NAIS
The success of La Scuola’s virtual gala on March 28 - the first of its kind - has created a blueprint for other schools across the country.
La Scuola was recently featured by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) in its “Sharing Solutions” series under “Sustain Fundraising”. During this time of COVID-19, every independent school is searching for best practices and solutions as we navigate shelter-in-place requirements and NAIS is sharing these successful outcomes with its member schools.
“Simply put, we hold each other up and so we did it because there was no better time to bring our community together,” said Shannon Cleary, Director of Advancement. “Two weeks into shelter-in-place, we were hearing from our community that people wanted to gather for some sense of ‘normal’ and celebrate our community seemed timely.”
The decision turned out to be a good one for La Scuola as we raised more than $200,000 that goes directly to student learning. The incredible generosity of our community made this one of the most successful LDV events ever.
“This year’s LDV proves to be an amazing example of how our La Scuola community can come together to ensure the successful outcomes of all our students and families,” said Valentina Imbeni, Head of School. “We are also thrilled that we can support fellow independent schools across the country as we all work together for the good of our students and families.”
More than 350 people joined from across California, America, Italy, and beyond. We laughed, we played games, and most importantly, we connected as a community. The hour-long event featured student testimonials, stories from our community, and a fabulous performance by our Ambassador Ensemble and Maestro Carlo Dean.
