Dear La Scuola Community, I am delighted to announce that we received full approval from the San Francisco Department of Public Health this afternoon to reopen our Mission Campus for Grades 3-5 and 6-8.  Our first day of on-campus learning will be Wednesday, Oct. 14 for Grades 3-5 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 for Grades 6-8. Buongiorno La Scuola, Welcome back on campus to our K-2 staff, families, and children, and a good first day of remote learning to our at-home families as well. There is a lot of joy and the campus is electric today. There were tears of joy at drop-off and we are so thankful for the trust you put in us, our faculty, and staff. Dear La Scuola Community, I am excited to announce that last night we received approval from the San Francisco Department of Public Health to reopen our Fell Street Campus for Grades K-2.  Our first day of on-campus learning at our Fell Campus for our students in grades K-2 will be Wednesday, Sept. 30. At this time, the earliest we anticipate a potential start date for on-campus learning at our Mission Campus in Grades 3-5 is Wednesday, Oct. 14 and for Grades 6-8 is Wednesday, Oct. 28. These... We are planning to have distance learning days for all students before and after Winter Break so that you can travel and still return with enough time to quarantine before we return to campus. These dates will be: Dec. 14 Dec. 15 Jan. 6 Jan. 7 Jan. 8  Please note that we also added Dec. 16 & 17 and Jan. 4 & 5 as vacation days because we started the school year a week early. Teachers are hard at work setting up their classrooms and teaching from the space. Our Leadership Team met with representatives from the SF Department of Public Health today to complete a walkthrough of our campus to validate our compliance with school reopening guidelines. We hope to hear from them soon, but there is currently no timeline for approval or potential return date for our K-2 students. We plan to stagger the return dates for Grades 3-5 and then Grades 6-8. Buonasera La Scuola, I am here at the Fell Street Campus and it’s very exciting because we got confirmation that we will be receiving a visit from the City of San Francisco tomorrow. They will make sure we are in compliance with the guidelines for the safe reopening of schools. It’s exciting times, there are teachers in the classrooms and we are all excited to be here together. This week, children continued the dialogue on relationships between people as part of the unit on family. The images observed last week and the drawings helped the children reflect on the different types of relationships that can exist between people and the images let them question where those people might live.  Taking notes from the children's words regarding people in relationships, we continued to reflect on the symbolic places where meaningful relationships happen such as home and around...
