Mission Campus Development
Construction of New Main Building
At La Scuola, environment is more than mere space or setting - it's a teacher that plays an essential role in our education and our future. The sunlight through the windows, the aromas of the garden, the color of the paint. We know that environmental factors such as these illuminate the course of our lives, with opportunity and hope. That's why we invest our energy, intelligence, and care to create the optimal environment for education; so that all the members of our community continue to grow "open to the world." This is the path we've chosen.
Today, we have an opportunity to continue to build upon our efforts thus far and to make a resounding impact for generations to come. Already, our community has grown beyond the bounds of our current building. As more and more families choose La Scuola for its unique ability to elevate students as the protagonists in their own education, we need to create a new campus that's as expansive as our imaginations.
The Mission campus will be transformed into the ideal international school of the future - the first and only of its kind in the United States. This building will become the main entrance to our campus and will house our food atelier, dining room, art, music, and makers ateliers and will be designed with flexible classroom partitions. The Ateliers/Studio spaces are unique and at the heart of the Reggio Emilia program as they provide students with innovative spaces to learn, explore, create and experiment. This learning space will match our unique learning approach, with the ability to learn, find beauty in life, and discover extraordinary answers.

Looking Ahead...
Last Updated: January 10, 2025
Construction is progressing rapidly thanks to the recent dry weather, and a highly skilled and motivated construction team. Work is progressing with installation of reenforcing steel and electrical conduits within the mat slab foundation. This has advanced our concrete pour day by several days to the beginning of the week of the 19th. Some 500 cubic yards of concrete (more than 50 ready-mix truck loads) will arrive on site and will be placed on the day of the pour. Concrete pumps and the overhead crane will be working swiftly to place that quantity of concrete in about 4 hours, while trucks rotate through the frontage, as crews work to finish the surface. It will be the busiest day on site so far, and to pull it off, parking will be restricted on both sides of 18th St. Any parked cars will be removed immediately and without any warning.
