Sharing Gratitude For Our Community
Dear La Scuola Community,
As the Board of Directors, we could not be prouder of how La Scuola’s leadership, faculty and staff have beautifully demonstrated our mantra Niente Senza Gioia, Nothing Without Joy, as our community transitioned from face-to-face learning to online learning. All of our children - preschool through grade eight - excitedly logged into virtual classrooms for their morning circles, shared buds and thorns with their teachers and friends, and understood that while their new normal was anything but normal, La Scuola is here to support them.
Thank you to our leadership team, our faculty and staff, our students and you as parents for how you have collaborated so wonderfully to ensure that learning continues and that La Scuola remains joyful in spite of the chaos in the world.
Some parents and prospective families have inquired about how an economic downturn might impact La Scuola. As a Board, we want to reinforce our ongoing and unwavering commitment to two longtime key tenets of our strategic plan, permanence, and thriveability. The Board is focused on our school’s financial sustainability this current year and for the long-term future. We regularly review long-range scenarios, good and bad, to ensure the school is prepared to manage through any macro-economic environment. This includes our commitment to the Mission campus development.
As a community, we have always worked to overcome obstacles and emerged stronger. At a time like this, when some of our families and staff will come under particularly high levels of stress, we want to do everything we can to help and hold our community close.
We also enthusiastically invite you to our first virtual La Dolce Vita - LDV Goes On - Saturday, March 28, from 5-6 p.m. LDV Goes On is proving to be an amazing example of how our La Scuola community can come together to ensure the successful outcomes of all our students and families. Everyone in our community is invited to join us virtually from the comfort of your own home. Wear your finest LDV outfit, prepare your favorite dinner, and celebrate our fellowship as a community! During these times, we are reminded that as a community we are stronger together and we are there for each other - whether in-person or virtually. We will be sharing a video link on Friday, March 27.
There is still much to celebrate together, including important milestones like the Class of 2020, our first graduating class. We are committed more than ever to supporting our sliding-scale tuition program and the continued professional development of faculty.
We thank you for the continued support, patience, and optimism.
