Spazio Gioco is a joyful environment where everyone participates by singing and dancing along with the children.
There is a maximum of 12 children per Spazio Gioco class with 1 teacher and 1 parent (parents participate on a rotation basis).
Children 2 years of age can be dropped off during Spazio Gioco after a transitioning/inserimento period at the beginning of the school year. The program is open to children 20 months old by September 1, 2020 and a parent or caregiver needs to stay with the child in Spazio Gioco until the child is 2 years old. Children need to be at least 2 years old to be dropped off at a licensed preschool.
Parents stay until the child is ready to be dropped off at the class.
After the initial transitioning/inserimento period parents can participate in the class on a rotation basis. There will be 2 parents participating during each class. A sign up sheet allows parents to pick days when they’d like to attend. Some parents may want to participate more often and some less often, but each parent should participate at least twice per semester after transitioning.
Participating parents are there to help the class as a whole, during activities, snack and clean up. Only Italian is spoken during class, (parents are welcome to ask the teachers how to say something in Italian). This is a great opportunity for parents to learn Italian along with the class.
Parents are responsible for changing diapers right before the class. Parents will be called back to the class if a diaper change is needed.
If there is space, children can attend Spazio Gioco 4 afternoons per week.
