SPEAK: Managing Our Kids' Stress on Dec. 9
Managing Our Kids’ Stress From Pre-School through High School
Come connect and learn how we can support our kids in managing stress from pre-school through high-school. Dr. Lisa Damour is a psychologist, author, teacher, speaker, and consultant who writes the monthly ‘Adolescence’ column for the New York Times. Her two published works, Untangled and Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Children and Teenagers, provide practical strategies for helping students navigate this often challenging time.
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 9, from 7:15 – 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Marin Country Day School, 5221 Paradise Drive, Corte Madera
In her talk, Lisa will draw on her extensive research on adolescents to teach parents about:
- the difference between healthy and unhealthy stress and anxiety
- research-based practical fixes to help young people manage naturally occurring tension, toxic stress, and anxiety
- how to help our sons and daughters build strength and confidence throughout their school years.
Dr. Damour’s talk will end with an audience Q&A session. We look forward to seeing you at our first SPEAK event of the 2019-2020 school year!
This event is FREE for SPEAK member school parents, educators, and staff. A non-member fee of $15 will be collected at the door. Seating will be first come, first served.
