Ciao La Scuola Community,

I hope this finds you well. I want to share some news for the week with you.

I would like to start by telling you that we continue to be in conversations with schools around the world and our COVID 19 task force continues to meet so that we can make plans for our reopening next year. While we don’t have all the answers now, know that we are drafting plans and as soon as we have more information from government officials, we will be sharing that with you. Know that we are on top of things and we can’t wait to have you back on campus in the summer and the fall when we reopen the school.

I would also like to remind all of you of how important it is in times like these to be together and be supportive of our own friends and family and community, so I wanted to share some things that have been happening at La Scuola. Our middle school students have been in correspondence with elderly people in the Bay Area in support of the Italian Community Services in San Francisco. They have been writing letters to each other to bring love into the homes of these people that are currently alone.

Our teachers in PreK and Early Elementary were on a webinar this week with over 800 Italian educators who wanted to be inspired by La Scuola’s experience and transition to online learning. Thank you, teachers, it was incredible, and I want you to know this is happening in the background as they continue to be supporting us and our children.

It’s going to be our Virtual Student Art Exhibit this Saturday at 5 p.m. This is a wonderful signature La Scuola event celebrating Gianni Rodari’s birthday, and we really hope you can participate virtually even though we would much rather be in person. Our teachers and staff have been putting a lot of effort into it and it’s going to be fantastic.

Lastly, we have an MYP virtual team “on-site” this week interviewing students and faculty members so we can be accredited by International Baccalaureate, so this is also very exciting.

Last but not least, we are bringing back the Mumsa food box. It was a very popular item for many of you. We heard you and we hope you will be pleased it will restart next week. You can find more information and sign-up in tomorrow’s Bollettino.

With that, I hope you have a great week and I hope to see you on Saturday. Don’t forget, all will be well, we will be back together one day. Andra’tuttobene!
