Student Wellness; Pioneer Class of 2020; Our Schedule Ahead
Grazie di cuore for your support, encouragement, and patience as we began our second week of online learning and have started to offer more face-to-face time (synchronous learning) with your teachers. Know that your feedback and support is appreciated. And once again, know that we are in this together, and supporting each other is ever more important right now.
April Schedule & Beyond
We do not currently have plans to make any changes to the dates and timing of Spring Break or Summer or school opening dates. Please know we are busy planning the rest of the school year with online learning if a longer closure is needed to ensure that we curb the spreading Covid-19 and as recommended by the health authorities. This includes how we celebrate the important end of the year traditions and graduations for all students, especially our Grandissimi and pioneer Class of 2020.
Celebrating our Pioneer Class of 2020
We are delighted to share that our first 8th-grade class had a very successful high school admission experience! All students received one or more offers, which mostly were their first choices. They were admitted at:
- International High School
- Lick Wilmerding High School
- Convent of the Sacred Heart
- Drew High School
- Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory
- San Francisco Waldorf High School
- Stuart Hall High School
- The Bay School of San Francisco
- Urban School of San Francisco
Well done, Class of 2020!!
Our SEL Specialist Janelle Spanier is now available for 15-minute wellness check-ins. As part of the student support team, Janelle is a resource to help support your child through any challenges your child might be experiencing right now that may be impacting their overall well-being. Just because they are social distancing doesn't mean they have to be isolated. There are many tools, resources and reminders that can help your child navigate through this interesting time: they are not alone! Email Janelle and she will contact you.
Caring for Faculty
As we take everyone’s wellness into consideration, please remember that our faculty need time to disconnect too and many of them are parents like you. We ask for your patience with email response times for non-urgent matters and to consolidate requests through Division Heads and Campus Managers whenever possible to help manage the volume of requests they receive. When you write to your teachers and before you hit ‘send’ please always ask yourself: Is this kind? Is this urgent? Is this important? Is this relevant? Is this helpful?
Donating Excess Medical Supplies
Anyone with extra N95 masks or plastic face shields - possibly remaining from previous wildfires - please consider donating them to David Blacklock, the father of two La Scuola students and a medical professional working in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Mills Peninsula Hospital. David is on the frontlines of this Pandemic and says, “You will be my hero and bring our families some peace” if anyone is able to help. David can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please know that we are here for you and appreciate your partnership, Buona Serata!
Andra’tuttobene - all will be well!
